Our Visitor Operations team is critical to delivering our vision for outstanding visitor experience at Aviva Studios. You will provide day-to-day duty management of the venue, events, and activities as well as supporting the Front of House team in delivering an incredible experience of our new year-round home and everything that takes place there.
Inside of these duties, you will ensure the continued safety of visitors, working closely with security staff, Venue Operations Manager and the Front of House team to manage risk and respond to incidents. Alongside this, you will work collaboratively with teams across Aviva Studios and deliver the Front of House function for a wide variety of events, activities, and performances.
You will work closely with the wider teams to develop the abilities of the front facing roles to create a collaborative and supportive culture that champions diversity, openness, accessibility, and celebrates the strengths of team members.

Working closely with our ticketing, cleaning, porters and security teams, volunteers and Food and Beverage partner, you will be a team player with great ideas and energy plus a real understanding of how to welcome all of Manchester's communities to Aviva Studios.
Key responsibilities for the Duty Manager role include;
- Fulfil the role of Duty Manager in the operational structure of Aviva Studios, working with Front of House Supervisors, and other teams in the day-to-day delivery of outstanding customer service to all visitors
- Play a leading delivery role in the day-to-day procedures for risk management and mitigation in Aviva Studios, this may include leading evacuations, completing risk assessments, managing crowd-flow, responding to first aid incidents, monitoring and maintain the safety and visitors, colleagues and art-works, and general incident response and management
- Work with Producers and Event Managers to scope and plan operational needs for commercial and creative programming and events, liaising with the Visitor Operations Manager and Front of House Manager as needed to ensure the Front of House Team is ready to deliver
- Working with the Visitor Operations Team, support the delivery of customer feedback processes end-to-end, ensuring feedback and complaints are appropriately logged, investigated, resolved and/or escalated
- Work with wider Front of House team to develop and embed team culture, ensuring your team upholds the highest standards in visitor experience
- Contribute to the continued development of the visitor experience offer at Aviva Studios
- Work with Front of House Managers, Supervisors and other teams to design and deliver training for our front facing teams, ensuring staff feel prepared and have all the tools to undertake their roles

The Person Specifications for the Duty Manager role are;
ESSENTIAL
- Ability to motivate and leads teams of people in the delivery of outstanding experiences/services
- Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with a broad range of people from different backgrounds
- Demonstrable experience of taking a collaborative approach to their work
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, always retaining an open and approachable manner
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office programs and the ability to pick up systems quickly
- First Aid Qualification or willingness to undertake a First Aid Qualification
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience of working within an arts/cultural venue or a customer focused organisation
- Understanding/knowledge of access needs and previous experience of working with access customers
- Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation and practical implementation of policies and procedures
- Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
