The main purpose of the Event Manager role is to deliver events and activities across Factory International’s programmes of work including commercial events and hires and corporate hospitality.
This role sits within the Producing Department, who are the team responsible for the scheduling, planning and delivery of all our activity. The team comes from a wide range of backgrounds, and works across all our programmes of work.
You will be overseeing both the advancing and delivery of an exciting programme of activity – delivering events on a variety of scales for a broad range of clients.

The key responsibilities for the Event Manager role include;
- Working with our Development and Commercial teams to assist in the scoping of events, liaising with clients and internal teams to develop plans and costings and communicating these to tight deadlines
- Responsible for the day-to-day planning and delivery of assigned event activities across the programmes at Factory International, ensuring that project plans, timetables, schedules are formulated for each event based on the event briefs and that all debriefs and event reports are accurately maintained
- Undertaking professional and timely communications with partners including taking concise and accurate briefs and offering creative and technical input, maximising opportunities for added value to events and ensuring our partners wish to return to us time and again
- Effectively monitoring and forecasting event budgets, ensuring that events are delivered to requirements, within allocated budget and maximising profit where applicable. Ensuring that potential variances are promptly identified and addressed appropriately, escalating issues or concerns as appropriate
- Accurately document and report on post event profit and loss accounts and contra invoices
- Negotiating and drafting contracts
- Ensuring a clear flow of information across internal teams using internal systems as approriate in order for departments to plan effectively
The person specification for the Event Manager role are;
ESSENTIAL
- Experience of project management with an ability to manage multiple activities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships
- Financial literacy, including experience of putting together costings and quotes and effectively managing budgets
- Strong negotiation skills with an understanding of the needs of delivering live events for third party partners and promoters
- The ability to both work on own initiative and to lead a project team, to assess complicated situations quickly and to identify ways forward creatively
- Ability to engage with and use IT systems appropriate to the organisation
- Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
