About Us
Superserve Manchester Ltd are a collective of industry insiders who combined have worked on a variety of large scales projects across the UK to help the client deliver their F&B operational objectives. This includes running bars in festivals such as The Garden Party and Mint Festival, setting up and being responsible for F&B delivery in venues including YES in Manchester, The Merchant Liverpool and The Moth Club in London and delivering first class gastronomy experiences in venues up and down the country.
With the biggest project to date on the horizon, Superserve are now recruiting for a high-level Bar Manager to be responsible for the launch of all bars within Factory International and the day to day running of what is set to be one of Europe’s biggest venue openings this year.
This world-class cultural venue in the heart Manchester will present bold new work by the world’s most exciting artists – from music gigs to major exhibitions, original theatre to daring new dance, all incorporating the latest in digital technologies.
The Role
Superserve is a vibrant, multi faceted new hospitality venture which will be based out of Factory International and we're looking for an experienced Bar Manager to join our team.
As the Bar Manager, you will be fully responsible for day to day delivery of the bar operations within the venue over 3 permanent bars and multiple pop up bars during the year. The candidate must be confident in managing larger teams of support drafted in for high volume events which includes live music with capacities of up to 6000 people, festival style events and large banqueting sit down meals.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the all bars on site and directly supervise all Bar Supervisors and team members, guiding them in operating their departments / responsibilities when on shift and delivering KPI's with the Superserve Operations Manager and Directors.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility of all bar operations on behalf of Superserve for Factory International
- Lead a large team of full time, agency and events bar staff
- Ensure a positive experience for all guests and drive SPH
- Oversight and development of drinks menus
- Oversight of recruitment for the bar team
- To ensure stock targets, line checks and spot checks are upheld
- To ensure all bar EPOS is working correctly
- Develop connections within the local community and local drinks suppliers
- Organise and lead team trainings
- Ensure brand values and standards are delivered and profitability is achieved
- Create weekly rotas for each bar outlet
Essential Skills
- Practical bar skills including pouring to measure and changing barrels
- Knowledge of alcohol, licencing and serving laws
- Previous managerial experience in an Bar Manager role within a high volume venue
- Proven experience of developing and leading a large bar team
- You must have a genuine love for live music and bar service.
- Capable of motivating a large disparate and diverse team
- Proven experience of leading staff training programmes
- Strong understanding of the industry and wider cultural sector
- Strong EPOS system knowledge
- Ability to work to budgets and forecast
- Ability to work under pressure
- Take a proactive hands-on approach to driving your business forward.

£32k OTE
